Crafting Customized Aesthetic Crowns with Hybrid Ceramics

Crafting Customized Aesthetic Crowns with Hybrid Ceramics

Date: 19 February 2025

Time: 9.00am– 5.30pm

Venue: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Synopsis:

Hybrid ceramics blend the natural aesthetic qualities of traditional ceramics with the functional benefits of composite to closely mimic the appearance of natural teeth while still providing strength and durability.

This session will focus on optimizing the aesthetic and functional capabilities of  Shofu HC hybrid ceramic material. Participants will gain insights on how to accurately reproduce life-like restorations that mimic natural teeth with a better understanding on the entire fabrication process from design, milling and individual characterization of Shofu HC. Key points will be shared on working with Ceramage indirect composite, including essential principles and techniques to create aesthetic restorations with predictable outcomes.

Additionally, the session will introduce time-saving strategies, including the micro build-up technique using Ceramage indirect composites and internal staining techniques with LiteArt. Participants will learn tips and tricks to efficiently implement these techniques, increase efficiency and  elevate the quality of dental restorations.

Key Learning Points

  • Provide a better understanding on the entire CADCAM fabrication process of Shofu HC Hybrid Ceramics restorations
  • Explore internal characterization and micro-buildup techniques with Ceramage and LiteArt
  • Learn an efficient and predictable finishing and polishing technique to achieve life-like restorations that blend well with the natural teeth.

Technical Instructor Profile : Mr. Takahiro Kawasaki

Mr. Kawasaki embarked on his journey in dental technology in April 2002, enrolling at Tohoku University’s Dental Technician School. After graduating in March 2004, he pursued advanced training at Waseda Dental Technician Training Center (Kyushu Branch), completing his studies in March 2005. In April 2005, Mr. Kawasaki joined Shofu Inc., where he has contributed significantly to the field of dental technology. Over the years, he has shared his expertise at numerous conferences organized by the Japan Society of Dental Technologyon topics such as dental porcelain for metal bonding, denture base resin polymerization, and transparency control using flowable composite resin. His published works include studies on a new metal bonding system and the characteristics of light-curing composite resin “Solidex.” Mr. Kawasaki’s expertise is backed by several additional certifications, including Dental MR (2018), Medical Device Regulations Instructor (2022), and 3D Utilization Technology (2022), which help broaden his knowledge and interests.
